MEET THE DESIGNER
Terrance Mason is a degreed Portland-based interior designer serving residential and commercial clients in the Pacific Northwest area. His design passion centers around creating comfortable, awe-enriching interiors that are balanced with - what he calls - ‘a little bit of whimsy.’
Terrance focuses his professional energy on helping clients articulate their own personal narratives, tastes and subtle nuances. He takes great pleasure in uncovering a client’s likes and dislikes, their idiosyncrasies, their collections, and their unique color palette. As he likes to put it, “I am here to help my clients design interiors that tell their story.” In the end, it’s all about two important considerations: the Client and How They Inhabit the Space. The rest is up to the Designer.
Practically speaking, Terrance does not believe in limiting his design services to one particular style, mode or period. And why would he? The answer is simple: he revels in the opportunity to work with different styles and periods. Terrance’s flexibility and openness to various styles is a significant asset to his clients. He can work with Minimalism, Hollywood Glam, Country, Art Deco, or Traditional, to name just a few. In fact, Terrance’s clients appreciate his design-forward ability to juxtapose divergent styles and bringing them together in new, unique ways.
“By designing in a diverse spectrum of styles, I am always advancing my knowledge, which in turn, benefits my clients’ designs.” He continues, “Sometimes I find myself doing an interior in one style and yet am able to glean from other styles to complement the design.” For example, in one client’s home, Terrance was creating an Art Deco room that successfully incorporated Classical influences.
“The style is just one aspect – albeit, a very important one - of an overarching interior design.” Terrance goes on to say, “And, while important, it should not control the outcome of the design. That’s my responsibility,”
WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING
“Terrance is easy to work with and so very, very talented! I had some ideas but needed advice and help with the big picture. Terrance helped me assemble the proper textures, colors, furniture and objects to make a consistent room. He worked within my time-frame and budget. Terrance not only shopped for me and with me, but he also was able to recommend creative ways to use some of my existing pieces and saved me money. I absolutely love his attention to detail. My house is beautiful!!! I’ve referred him to several of my friends who are also very pleased with his work. He is able to adapt to your preferences, needs and lifestyle. If you walked into my friends’ homes, you would never know that we all worked with Terrance. He's that dynamic.”
J. LLOYD, SR.ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE at PEOPLESEARCH - CHERRY CREEK, CO
“All I had to do was make one decision and that was to hire Terrance... he took care of the rest.”
SCOTT ELROD, FILM AND TV ACTOR - LOS ANGELES, CA
“The thing I like about Terrance is his passion and excitement about every project he undertakes. Whether he is faux painting, decorating or designing he is intensely focused on the job at hand. He is truly a pleasure to work with. With many Interior Designers and Faux Finishers, you are given the same style and technique over and over again. Another thing I like about Terrance is his wide range of design knowledge. Whether your style is contemporary or traditional, he can lead you to your ultimate vision.”
